pectin will clean up your arteries big time!Feb 12, 2007
By Richard Waters

This is a general review on pectin as well as a specific review of Apple pectin which is the best tasting of all of the pectins. If you are having circulation problems I would certainly give pectin a try as it has the ability of scraping the fat (plaque) off of the walls of your arteries. In Europe and elsewhere there is the custom of eating fruit, especially apples at the end of the meal. Apples, mangos, guavas, citrus and some other fruits have pectin which will do it for you but you can add the powder to cereals, pancakes, smoothies, etc. - if you do not eat thee above fruits.Grapefruit is the cheapest and the most bitter of the pectins.
My fingers and hands use to fall asleep at night and after I found out I had high colesterol I resisted medication and instead started in on eating pectin in my foods which worked. I use pectin and lethicin on a regual basis.

Makes wonderful fruit tartsFeb 10, 2012
By Helen Read a diet book that used pectin as a diet aid. The type of pectin used was the powdered kind used to make jellies. Apple pectin will thicken a fruit tart without the need for antything else but fruit and a pie crust or cookie base. I make a mini tart for lunch. The pectin makes the pie very filling, warding off feelings of hunger. The pectin is excellent for your digestive system and has helped me to lower my blood sugar. I finished one bottle of the powder and have now bought a 3 pack.
Certo will not thicken a tart as the citrus pectin that Certo is made of doesn't thicken as apple pectin does. However, don't put the apple pectin in cold liquid as it will clump. Sure-Jell pectin is good to mix into yogurt or juices but it, too, is largely made from citrus and doesn't have the gelling properties of apples. Believe the diet book that recommended the use of pectin was called Fit for Life.
Since I take a statin, I was worried that the citrus pectins might contain grapefruit and interfere with the statin.
The Weight Watchers' diet advises us to eat a lot of fruit to which they allocate no points. Think a small fruit tart will add up to only 6 points which is due to the crust. Hope using the apple pectin works for you!

Apple PectinFeb 10, 2008
By Sam Jones Relatively expensive as I can buy liquid Certo 6 oz. in the grocery store for $3.99 a package. Was $16.06 for 8 oz. powder from you. Very hard to blend in with juice. Had to use a blender. Thus not convenient. I can mix the Certo with a spoon which works well. Overall your product is good, but hard to work with for my purpose.

By Heather M. Klein This a powder not capsules.. I'm sure it would be fine in capsules but drinking it in water is pretty gross.
