Excellent for nerve health and cravings.Apr 28, 2011
By Great Cook This is a fabulous product! I also love Source Naturals, in general! I take 2 tablets in the morning and 2 tablets at night. I have nerve damage from carbon monoxide poisoning a few years ago.. a faulty old gas furnace. Source Naturals Benfotiamine 150mg, promotes good nerve health and has done wonders for me! There was a time I could barely stand on my own and needed to take prescription Lorazepam daily, to help control the shaking and spasms. Now, I order a bottle of 120 Benfotiamine every month. It's quite slow arriving from this shipper: "Processing takes an additional 4 to 5 days for orders from this seller. Ships from and sold by Nutricity." So I just order it when I'm about half way through the 120. It usually takes a good 2 weeks from order to arrival. Not good, but the price is.. so I work around it. I've also noticed this totally dissipates cravings, for certain foods, alcohol, even makes the transition between different medications easier. I'm amazed what an excellent product it is and how well it works for me!
As always... "consult your physician." (Actually, I had to tell mine about this, doctors are rarely aware of the benefits of some of these wonderful natural products.)

A Synthetic B Vitamin for Nerve PainAug 26, 2011
By Spudman It was by sheer chance that I learned about benfotiamine, a synthetic form of thiamine (B-1). There was a small article about this substance in the local paper in which it mentioned that benfotiamine has been used in Germany to treat neuropathy due to diabetes. A doctor quoted in the article states that the initial dose is 300mg twice a day and then 150mg twice a day for maintenance.
Mrs. Spudman has had four back surgeries and suffers with residual nerve pain. She sees a pain specialist and has been taking Neurontin for years. After reading many internet articles and positive testimonials, "we" decided to give benfotiamine a try. After only a little over a week she noticed a definite improvement in her pain level. All nerve pain wasn't eradicated, but the electric shocks that shot down her legs and pained the bottoms of her feet diminished quite a bit, so much so that I've placed a second order for benfotiamine with Amazon.
When my wife switched to the lower dose of the vitamin, she noticed some of her nerve pain came back until she resumed the original higher dosage. For her, at least, taking the benfotiamine has definitely worth the money, and she has experienced no side effects.
The review above is purely anecdotal. I am not a doctor, but have watched one on TV. Before purchasing this product, do some additional research of your own. I can only say that Mrs. Spudman has been very pleased with the results of taking benfotiamine even though she was initially hesitant and skeptical.

I had researched AGE inhibitors and stumbled across Benfotiamine as a safe and natural one.
For those unfamiliar with these terms, Advanced Glycation Endproducts are formed as a result of the chemical interaction in the body between amino acids and sugars, and AGE inhibitors block their formation. AGEs are being implicated in brain aging, dementia, Alzheimers, brain plaque, and more.
I started taking benfotiamine just to see if I noticed any difference, and Wow, the effects were fast and very profound. My memory, mental agility, serenity, and mental endurance all started improving and have steadily improved for the past two months since I started.
One day I even started remembering the first and last names of my fellow students in my first grade class! And initially I could actually feel my brain growing younger.
I've recommended it to a lot of friends, and while most have had similar good results, one found it a little too strong. The tablets can easily be cut in half, if need be.
I find one tablet per day plenty, but then I'm not trying to deal with neuropathy or the like.
