"Calcium D-Glucarate includes the patented compound glucarate which has been shown to enhance the major detoxification pathways in the body. Calcium D-Glucarate, the calcium salt of D-glucaric acid, is found naturally in the human body and in a variety of fruits and vegetables. Animal studies have shown that Calcium D-Glucarate inhibits B-glucuronidase, thereby enhancing the process of glucuronidation, in which foreign organic compounds, fat-soluble toxins and excess steroid hormones such as estrogen are detoxified and excreted from our bodies."

By Kathy Murphy My daughter has suffered from pms especially the first day. She had painful cramps and was just miserable. I have her taking the Calcium D-Glucarate and milk thistle daily. Both are good for clearing out the liver and body of excess hormones especially estrogens or any toxins. Now she has no pain at all and has more energy. Love this product!!!

A great defense against extra estrogen - helped with leg crampsAug 13, 2011
By clorenger I just reordered my second bottle of these (and have signed up for the subscription). From my research, I see that these (besides other good things) help deactivate the aromatase enzyme, which is one of the trouble-makers in estrogen process. I feel that they're doing good things for me.
Whether genetically, from the food choices we make, from environmental xenoestrogens, pharmaceuticals or stress, I think all Americans, women as well as men, are being exposed to much higher levels of estrogen than what is normal, and it's disrupting our systems in bad ways. Check out Ray Peat's excellent website for more info on the estrogen / serotonin / cortisol connections. The book Mastering Leptin by Byron J. Richards is also an excellent source of info about leptin / weight issues / insulin / estrogen. All these things have to be in a delicate balance to maintain good health.
Because these tablets are chewable, I find it much easier to take them on a consistent basis, and can carry some around in my purse so that I can take the recommended 6/day and not worry about having to find a glass of water for pill swallowing.
Now, they're not *tasty* by any stretch, and I'm OK with that because I don't want a ton of sugar / sweetners, but the taste is an OK chalky-ness. Another reviewer said they spiked her blood sugar, but I haven't had any issues with that. They really are not very sweet (tasting) at all to me. According to the directions, you should be taking them with food anyway.
I suffer from occasional leg cramps at night. Got up with a case last week (because I had too much sugar too close to bed, I think), crunched up two of these tablets, and it was like almost instant relief. That was impressive. Previously I had been relying on a homeopathic remedy with quinine, and it works, but takes awhile to kick in (which is tough when your leg is still in cramping and you just want to go back to sleep).

These really do control excess hormones.Nov 19, 2011
By crank These things when in combo with DIM or something of the sort, including your low fat diet, really do work wonders. I had HUGE issues after taking some phytosterols--NEVER doing this again even though it did help grow some hair for a short while--for hair loss, and my estrogen levels got ******* out of control and it caused some major issues. I cannot believe there is nothing major written on phytosterols about the harm they can cause. I was taking a gram for about 3 months or so and good lord I started to feel like I was pregnant LOFL! Those few extra hairs on my head we not worth it.
Well, this solved my problem in under a month and I was taking 4 a day with DIM and going low fat. I am sure this could also help people who take roids or something of the sort if they were taking a break from building and wanted all that extra crap out of their body. I am sure it helps with a whole lot of things exiting the body and that is usually good. Until I see any major study about any side effects, I have none, I will trust this is doing what it is supposed to. I just hope I did no long term harm from trying to grow my hair back.
