Description:

Often brewed as a coffee sub-substitute, the roots of Dandelion (Taraxacum officinale) can also be used as an ingredient in root beer. The cleaned, raw roots can also be sliced into salads or cooked and added to other vegetables. The taproot is white on the inside and dark brown on the outside and grows up to 6 inches long. The plant first appeared in the 10th century journals of Arabian physicians. By the 16th century, the British considered Dandelion a valuable herbal plant and it has held a distinguished place among European herbalists for centuries. When the whole plant is used, Dandelion will work as a natural dye and turn a fabric a deep magenta.

5really good herbal teaMay 04, 2008
By Randal L. Zelhart "Lee Zelhart"
This has a slight coffee taste to it and supposed to be full of good stuff for your health. A little sugar, or Splenda, and I'm good to go. I really like it.

5Very yummy stuff!May 21, 2010
By Alanna C. Farnsworth
I did quite a bit of research on this tea before deciding which brand to buy and finally settled on this one because it got more ratings for good taste. I purchased it at my local health food store and I just had to report back that it is the best herb tea I have ever tasted. It's not strong, at all. I add quite a bit of lemon and no sweetener and really love it's mellow taste. Let me just point out that I am not a coffee drinker and not a regular tea drinker, either. I don't like the taste of black or green tea and haven't liked most herb teas. I'm happy to have found this, as I do appreciate a warm beverage in the morning. Knowing the health benefits linked to this tea makes it all the better. Enjoy!

5Healthy, herbal substitute for evening coffeeJun 22, 2011
By Ansley Clements
In efforts to drink less coffee, I have switched to healthier options which are also similar in taste. As for the taste of this tea, it definitely tastes herbal/plant-like. I suggest adding real lemon juice if you like bitter and adding pure honey if you like sweet. That way you stay healthy while altering the taste a bit. This box is full of tea bags. They are stacked one on top of the other in a bag inside the box. The tea bags have no string or tag to bother with. Also, the material of the tea bag itself appears to be all-natural. Dandelion root has numerous benefits, so I recommend Alvita's tea of this root as the best possible quality and choice. Granted it is the only brand I've tried, but I'm staying.

5Great serviceMay 22, 2010

I love this product. The taste is mild and pleasant, reminds me of liquorice without the kick. I sweetened it a little when I first tried it but find I enjoy the taste without sweetener now.
