good so farJun 28, 2011
By Angela Evans Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R1WL3LNQ7EQA2I For the dog owner who has tried to offer glucosamine tablets to a pet only to be rebuffed, Liquid Health's K9 Level 5000 may be an option. As a liquid means of providing glucosamine, the product is easily placed on top of food. While the product is called Level 5000, it should be clarified that the product does not provide 5000 mg of glucosamine in a daily serving. There are 5200 mg in one ounce. Liquid Health offers 8 and 32 ounce options. According to the product's dosing instructions, no dog is recommended to receive 1 ounce of product. A serving is based on a dogs weight.
Recognizing that 6 teaspoons equal one ounce and assuming the user purchases the 32 ounce bottle:
Under 10 lbs: 1/2 teaspoon (provides approximately 384 days of product for one dog of this weight)
10-24 lbs: 1 teaspoon (provides approximately 192 days of product for one dog of this weight)
25-49 lbs: 1 teaspoon A.M., 1 teaspoon P.M. (provides approximately 96 days of product for one dog of this weight)
50-100 lbs: 2 teaspoons A.M., 1 teaspoon P.M. (provides approximately 64 days of product for one dog of this weight)
Over 100 lbs: 2 teaspoons A.M., 2 teaspoons P.M. (provides approximately 48 days of product for one dog of this weight)
This product should be refrigerated after opening. Additionally, the product contains no sugar, wheat, gluten, yeast, milk or soy derivatives.
I've been providing this product to two dogs for about 2 weeks. Both dogs are over the age of 13 and have joint and hip issues. I think the product has made a difference. Each dog seems better able to handle stairs and can more easily stand after sitting. Thus far, I think the product appears to be working.
I should further disclose that I purchased my product through LuckyVitamin.com. At the time of my purchase, Lucky Vitamin offered the product for about $40. There was a shipping charge as well since I failed to meet the purchase threshold for free shipping.
Update: It is now the end of August 2011 and I am very impressed with this product. If I forget to give this product to my dogs, it is readily apparent. I can see that the product helps my dogs with their mobility issues and is superior to tabs, perhaps because it is more readily absorbed. I am still buying the product off of Luckyvitamin.com because that is the best price I have found. This is, admittedly, a costly product, but the impact on my dogs has been great and I now consider this a five star product and would highly recommend it to owners of dogs --especially large dogs-- that have mobility issues.

Liquid HealthSep 18, 2010
By Paulette Baehman When our lab mix tore up the ligaments in his knee, the vet recommended that we put him on a glucosamine product and he had a brand that was sold through the clinic. It was good with a high level of glucosamine & chondritin and was also very expensive. Went to the local pet store and they recommended Liquid Health. I was amazed! Liquid Health had a higher concentration of glucosamine, etc. than the vet's product. It cost about the same but was a bigger bottle. Last time I went to get some for Max, the pet store was sold out. So, I checked the Internet and found it on Amazon.com for a lower price than the pet store and lower price than other companies.
Has helped my dog so farDec 20, 2011
By Debra A. Harms I tried this product because of reviews that liquid version is better absorbed into the body.
My 9 year old Belgian Malinois has arthritis in her front leg which was broken as a puppy. She likes the taste and it seemed to help as her need for pain meds was lessened. I wasn't sure how much it helped until I ran out of the product. 4 days later she is limping badly again and her energy levels are down. Coincidence? Maybe, but I'm ordering another bottle today to test that theory.
My 11 year old Springer Spaniel has bad arthritis, but he doesn't like the taste. I have been experimenting with mixing it in canned food or pumpkin with limited success, but I'll keep trying especially if it starts to work again on the other dog.
