Gaba (gamma amino butyric acid) is an amino acid derivative, interconvertable to glutamine and/or glutamic acid as needed. Gaba is one of the chief inhibitory neurotransmitters. Suitable for vegetarians and hypoallergenic. GABA, an amino acid derivative, is the chief inhibitory neurotransmitter in the brain. Rather than stimulating neurons to fire, GABA inhibits neuronal activity. GABA is associated with mental states of calm and serenity, and also promotes muscle relaxation.

I've tried many different kinds of GABA supplements and I prefer this one, along with GABA Calm sublingual, by far.

Theanine is excellent paired with GABA for it's calming effects, they are two of the best supplements for social anxiety. Theanine is an amino acid like compound found almost exclusively in the the tea plant, it increases the production of calming brain waves and inhibits the stimulatory properties of caffeine. If theanine and caffeine are combined it stimulates a person mentally, like a natural Adderall of sorts.

The price was good and it works fine. I take it every night and it helps a little, which is more than most things I have tried. Minor anxiety/staying asleep issues and this is one way I try to help it.

I started taking 2 GABA about 1 hour before bedtime. It put me right to sleep. However, it must have been too strong where I overslept and had a hard time getting up in the morning. I now take 1 pill. Much better. I don't wake up during the night. I get a very sound sleep. It
is awesome.

I was having bad panic attacks and I read this might calm me down. Well, it sort works and sort of doesn't.
After the first day I noticed a mild calming effect. Enough to relax and not feel so tense. This surprised me as I wasn't expecting much. As I kept taking - and taking about 3 pills a day - I noticed the effect diminishing.
It still seems to work, but doesn't last long. Maybe 3-4 hours at best. Then I am restless and anxious all over again. I hate Valium. I just wanted a mild calm, not to feel sleepy. I'll try Kava Kava and Passionflower next.
