Enzymedica GlutenEase™ GlutenEase ™ supports people suffering with gluten or casein intolerance. GlutenEase is not formulated to prevent celiac symptoms. GlutenEase contains a modified Protease Thera-blend and an enzyme activity called DPP-IV. Proteases high in DPP-IV activity assist in normalizing inflammatory response to the gluten peptide, thus better digesting and utilizing gluten containing foods. This proactively supports the gut, allowing proteins to be properly broken down and absorbed in their digested state; broadening the potential food groups a person may eat. GlutenEase may also be used by those who wish to remain on the GFCF diet to ensure complete breakdown of proteins safe and effectively. Suggested Use: Take 1 capsule with any meal containing gluten or casein. More may be taken as needed. This product works best when used in combination with Digest or Digest Gold . Thank you - This changed my lifeAug 27, 2010
By SheGeek I am extremely sensitive to gluten. At this time, I don't know if I am intolerant or celiac, but whenever I get the tiniest bit of gluten my GI symptoms are horrible. A few weeks ago I had a product I believed to be gluten free and it turned out to have a food starch that contained gluten. I only had a few bites and I was sick in a couple of minutes and in terrible pain for over a week. I normally have only GI symptoms ranging from pain in my stomach, spasms in my lower abdomen, and diarrhea that won't stop. I decided to try this product because I am going on vacation (a week in Disneyland and several days in Arizona). And although I plan to continue my G-Free diet I worry about an accidental cross-contamination ruining my whole trip. I decided to take a very frightening test. I haven't purposely ingested gluten in over two years. I took a pill and then drove to my local Subway and ordered a wheat bread 6" pastrami sandwich. I brought it home and I was too scared to take it out of the package, so I took a second pill. I ate the sandwich and started a stop watch to see if it would postpone the reaction and by how long. After 6 HOURS I still didn't have a single symptom. I was shocked and turned off the stop watch. Since I don't know if I am celiac or not I will not go out of my way to eat gluten (I worry if I am not protected from damage that I don't know about). But, now I can rest easy about my vacation and may even have a piece of cake at my sister's wedding in Arizona. It is an unbelievable relief to know that I can now not be so worried about exposure to gluten. Thank you so much for this product. I am so grateful.

I was able to eat gluten!Jun 07, 2011
By Erin in SC I was able to eat crab rangoons with no ill effects! I was missing those so much from my gluten free diet!
I am gluten intolerant and have been following a strictly gluten free diet since 2009. With stomach troubles for over 12 years, a GF diet was the only thing that helped me. I have no celiac markers and took all the celiac tests which came back negative, but eating even miniscule amounts of gluten would make me very sick for hours. From studying nutrition and having a good understanding of the digestive system, I thought the theory of a gluten enzyme to break down the gluten molecule could work, however I was skeptical. After reading a review that someone in my situation was able to take 2 capsules and eat a 6" subway sandwich with no emergencies, I thought it couldn't hurt to try it myself and figured crab rangoons would be worth it even if I did get sick. But I didn't get sick! I plan to stick to my GF diet and keep these pills around for restaurant dining, get-togethers with friends and family, and the occasional crab rangoon craving ; ). I also take supplements to heal the lining of my gut like BioGenesis Intestinal Repair Capsules, Metagest Digestive Support Formula, probiotics, and drinking aloe vera juice.

Not a Cure-All, but I Like to Have It Around Just In Case . . .Jul 26, 2010

"Knitting is Gluten Free"
I am HIGHLY sensitive to gluten. Just a fraction of a crumb of gluten can make me sick for a week.
My jury is still out as to exactly how strongly effective GlutenEase is, but I do think it helps.
From everything I've gleaned in researching and taking GlutenEase: It is not a cure-all. For example, those who have gluten-intolerance or celiac disease cannot use GlutenEase to allow themselves to eat gluten with abandon.
However, I do find GlutenEase to be effective in helping ease my discomfort, just a bit, when I have been accidentally glutened, such as eating gluten-free but being cross-contaminated.
So, from my experience, while GlutenEase does not erase the side-effects of being glutened, it makes it just a little easier to get through the ordeal until my body gets on the other side of things.
When I used it at first, I couldn't help but wonder if it was me or my imagination that thought it helped, but I've used it enough now to where I can say I think it definitely gives me a bit of an edge in making it through an attack (despite the fact that being glutened is always a pain).
I carry GlutenEase in my purse with me everywhere. It gives me comfort to know I have it available to me. To my mind, any edge I can get on an attack is worth it to me.
While GlutenEase is definitely not a cure-all, I am happy it exists and will continue to use it.
I wish it weren't so expensive.
I hope others will post here about their experiences with GlutenEase -- either in the discussion section or in additional reviews.

Works for me!Mar 01, 2011
By D. Rolfe I have celiac disease and if I go somewhere and feel like I got some gluten on accident and start feeling sick I just take like 3 or 4 of these at a time until I feel better, usually one time is good enough. They help a lot and my doctor is the one that told me to get them. It works for me I hope it works for you too???

Works GreatJul 02, 2011
By Kathy J Alderman My husband is Gluten Intolerant. He gets bloated, stomach aches, and diarhea. So through the process of elimination we changed the way we eat, omitting all gluten and diary foods. Wow, what a differance that made. However, after a while a person craves some of those foods like pizza's He picked up a bottle of these enzymes at a health food store. He gave them the ultimate test. He took two of the enzymes along with another advanced enzymes suppliment and we had pizza for supper one Friday evening. He did not get sick at all! We are impressed with how this works. I would not recommend over doing on the Gluten, but this at least offers the solutions to being somewhere where it is difficult finding a gluten-free meal or when you want to indulge in something like a pizza every once in a while. We will be keeping this enzyme on hand at all times.
