By Nicole I regret not finding this product years ago. I hesitate to call it a "magic pill" but it does treat some awesome things from alcoholism to autism and everything in between. It's nickname is "brain food" because it helps with a lot of brain ailments such as depression/anxiety, dementia, and general age issues. Glutamine, the proper name for it, is a naturally occurring amino acid in our bodies as well as foods such as poultry, legumes, and other meats. The "L" before the word means that it's naturally found in nature.
I personally bought it for three reasons: depression/anxiety and sugar cravings as well as my craving for alcohol more often than is healthy. I've had it for a few days taking 4000-5000 mg per day. From the first day I started feeling much more relaxed and happier and my cravings were pretty much curbed.
3 days later and I'm still feeling good. Another great side-effect is that I'm getting much better sleep at night. I have chronic insomnia from overnight worrying but this medicine has made me feel so good during the day that I'm able to get a full night's sleep now with little worrying.
While the product itself is amazing, I dislike the form it's in. The pills are HUGE and there's only 60 in this particular bottle. Most people who take Glutamine recommend buying the powder form as it's cheaper and has no taste so it's easier to take. The plus side to the pills, though, are the added B-6 that I don't know if is offered in the powered forms of glutamine.
I recommend this for anyone looking for help with cravings (alcohol or sugar) and its especially good for my fellow low-carbers, for those with anxiety, depression, or people who are generally stressed out. It's a great alternative to Rx meds and it's cheaper!

By Bfitz35 I take Glutamine everyday. It helps my muscles recover from intense workouts. Some people say it fights cancer, age etc...but I don't buy into that, maybe its true, who knows. If you want to help with your muscle recovery I suggest glutamine. It also comes in powder form but it doesn't dissolve great.
