Great MoisturizerNov 11, 2009
By Saysouda I'm happy with this product. It's unscented. Great as an added moisturizer for winter/dry weather. It is too thick to use alone so I mix in with some oil such as jojoba and avocado oil and apply it to my face. My face feels hydrated and soft. My face is prone to breaking out and this product doesn't make my face break out at all. Great for hands/feet also. A little is all you need.

I ordered this after reading blogs that suggested using Lanolin for chilblains (caused by warming cold extremities too quickly also related to Raynauds). Using it keeps the heat from escaping from the covered body part, in my case, toes. The product was shipped quickly from the seller. It has a thick liquid consistency that is easy to use with no odor. I'm happy to report that this worked great on my chilblains and also on my chapped, rough feet. I'm hooked and will definitely buy keep buying although I have to say that a little goes a long way and that one bottle will last a long time. I also order a jar of solid Lanolin. This is by far the easier product to use.

Good for waterproofing, but messyFeb 08, 2011

I got lanolin as a way to waterproof a leather bad I have. In short it was an effective, but messy, procedure that I am not looking forward to having to do again.
I have a leather briefcase and I wanted to waterproof it to protect it from the elements on my commute to work. I looked into silicone based waterproofing but I wanted to keep the materials natural. I looked into mink oil, but I didn't want to risk changing the color of my bag. I read about lanolin and decided to give it a go, if it's good enough to keep sheep dry, it's good enough for my bag.
The application process was messy and protracted, and impossible to get perfectly even. Although I sound negative, I'm happy with the end result, my bag is protected from the elements in a natural way. The difficulty of the process overshadowed the effectiveness of the result. The lanolin didn't change the color of my bag, didn't rub off on my clothes, and makes the rain bead up. However, lanolin isn't a permanent solution and I'll probably have to do this again next year, so my excitement is tempered somewhat.
I can't compare this lanolin to any other, but my hands were definitely soft after working it into the leather and it appeared to be a quality product overall.
