OptiZinc is a unique form of zinc, bound to the amino acid DL-methionine. Animal studies have shown that zinc monomethionine provides significant protection against oxidative damage, and prevents depletion in the brain and liver of glutathione, an important antioxidant. (Findings from animal studies may not extrapolate to humans.)

The BEST zinc availableApr 13, 2011
By CheckAmazonFirst This supplement is the absolute best zinc available. I was unable to grow fingernails, as my protein absorption was weak until I started taking this supplement. Now I am trimming fingernails, and the protein absorption is enabling me to engage in a risky sport I thought I'd have to give up for lack of muscle strength.
All zinc is hard on the stomach - makes you nauseous. This zinc is less likely to cause nausea than any I've tried. Don't take any zinc in the morning, and take this with the largest meal of the day.

Great for skin issuesJan 28, 2012
By V. Antonjuk I'm a female in my mind 20's with hormonal acne especially around jawline. I decided to try optizinc on a whim because I head that zinc helps to heal skin, so I wanted to try it for my acne scars. To my surprise, not only did it heal the scars, but it also prevented a lot of the acne, especially those painful nodules under the skin that dont go away for a week. Overall my skin has improved significantly since starting this supplement, I tried other brand of optizinc and it didnt compare to source naturals. I take 2 tablets a day with a meal.

Very goodJan 06, 2012
By dawgiemama The size of the tablets is easily manageable, husband has trouble with large pills and I have trouble with compounds used for many pills binders. No problems here.
It has not upset our stomach, though we are careful to take with food, this seems easier on the tummy. Results are not overnight, but noticeable.

Best thing going for males.Nov 07, 2011
By Khenry Zinc is an absolute must for everyone, especially for males. With copper in this formula there is no worry about absorption issues. The price is great with free shipping over $25.00. What a deal.

College Student ReviewApr 29, 2012
By swag OK so i'm writing this review because i have mild acne, always have had pretty greasy skin, and after doing some research on acne products i decided to buy this. I've tried proactive, acne free, and all those other products and none seemed to work too well. And for the record i'm 18 so i'm just trying to inform everyone about zinc, not trying to get anyone to buy any specific product. Hell, if you can find multivitamins with about 40mg of zinc in them go buy those instead of this. But to the point....
So... I've been using this for a few weeks now, and I can say for sure that my skin has improved. Not nearly as many whiteheads or blackheads and my skin feels significantly less greasy, along with the fact that acne seems to be clearing up pretty well, (even on my upper arms and upper back.) Now im NOT saying it was all because of this zinc product. I have been drinking about 2/3 of a gallon of water daily, eating less greasy food, not touching my face, and using other facial cleansers.
The scientific aspect of zinc is that it does improve your bodies immune system which helps combat acne bacteria. And most people only get like on average 10 grams of zinc a day because its not that common in many foods, but the recommended daily intake of zinc is around 40g. So taking this along with what you normally eat daily gets you right around 40 grams of zinc.
Also I have never experienced any nauseousness or upset stomach when taking this and im only 140pounds 5 foot 8. Just take this after you eat and you'll be fine. One a day. And for anyone hatin on this product, you probably have been taking this expecting your acne to magically disappear while continuing to eat greasy foods. So that's on you.
So if you have mild-severe acne or even very light acne I would definitely tell you to start buying zinc. Or make sure you get at LEAST 40g of zinc a day. This product will definitely help. To which extent it will help your acne it all depends on you.
Hopefully this review I wrote helped and helps inform people who are wondering whether they should buy this or not.
