The only "bar" I use!Jul 08, 2008

Over the past few years, I have become very discerning about my nutrition, looking for the right balance of protein/carbs/fat, low processed food, low sugar, high fruits/veg/fiber, etc. This bar is by far the best! When I can't get a meal, this is what I grab.
"All Star Health" is also an excellent business and provider for this product. Always immediate and flat rate shipping.
In case you haven't found the specs for this bar elsewhere online, here they are: 80% raw, 22g organic protein, 9g dietary fiber, alkaline forming, no soy, non-GMO, no trans fats, no refined sugars, no dairy, gluten-free. Also, the nutrients ratio is: 22g protein, 33g carbs, 13g fat.

It's a protein bar, but one of the cleanest and tastiestJun 13, 2007

Ok, so it is a protein bar, and protein bars have a .... taste. They sometimes also have a texture to them that can be chalky, pasty (like unstirred natural peanut butter), or even cement-like.
This bar has the shadows of those qualities, but they are minimal. The taste is extremely pleasant, nutty and just a low level of sweetness.
They WILL NOT melt because they are uncoated - a fantastic attribute.
The rice protein that is included gives them their grainy/chalky aspect but I actually find it nice and not at all off-putting. The ingredients cannot be beat and this is a bar that will not make you feel like you are eating "a candy bar with whey protein" as you do with most other protein or bodybuilding bars.
So, highly recommended in a field of mediocrity.

Great bar and wonderful company, but...Jun 05, 2006
By Mikal Jackal The "Active Greens" Organic Food Bar is one of the best bars on the market today. The only bar it can be compared to is a new bar that just came out made by Garden of Life called "Perfect Food". The Organic Food Bar is great, but it has 22g of sugar, which is hard on the body for more reasons than I will explain. Sure, the bar contains a lot of fiber that slows sugar absorbtion, and it also contains much good fat and protein (which also slow absorbtion.) One should eat these bars moderately. The bar called Perfect Food has 12g of sugar, a vast array of organic vegetable juices, *sprouts and some probiotics. Unfortunately, it is not cold processed, and it is not *gluten-free. (Gluten is bad for people with celiac disease.) The Organic Food Bar's newest formulation has two more grams of sugar than that listed here today on Amazon. The new formulation also has 10 less calories from fat, 0.5g less saturated fat, 1g more healthy fat, 1g more fiber, 2g less protein, 105mg less sodium, 10% more of the calcium DV and 15% more of the iron DV. Now keep in mind that I offer all these comments after having eaten one of the Organic Food Bars. All in all, this is truly one of the best bars on the market today.

I love these bars! They have a sweet, full flavor that keeps me satiated for hours - and without much fluctuation in blood sugar (i.e. the slow down associated with digestion or the sugar low a few hours after eating something too sweet). One warning: they look pretty weird (deep green, as you might guess by the name and ingredient list) - but they are truly quite tasty!

By C. Enos There are loads of claims made by the myriad of "healthy" food bars on the shelves but only one that i've discovered can truly meet my strict standards. Find me one other bar that doesn't contain soy? There aren't any. Then find one that has such and excellent ratio of protein, carbs and fat. Again, you won't.
Simply put. If you are unfortunate enough not to be able to have a real meal with real food, this would make a fine alternative.
