NutriBiotic Rice Protein Vegan, Chocolate 80% Protein Content Hypo-Allergenic GMO & Gluten Free NutriBiotic chocolate flavored Rice Protein is a great tasting vegetable protein made from non-genetically modified whole grain sprouted brown rice. Free of the common food allergens normally associated with soy, milk, egg, wheat, corn, and yeast. This highly soluble powdered formula mixes easily into water, juice, or meals for an extra protein boost. Chemical processing is avoided by using a purified water and natural enzyme procedure. Low Temperature Enzyme Process The whole brown rice is first ground into a fine flour. Pure filtered water is then added, forming a thick slurry (called liquefaction) Natural enzymes are added in at different stages to break down and separate the carbohydrate and fiber from the protein portion of the whole grain. All processing temperatures are kept below 90° F. The low temperature and chemical free processing prevents denaturing of the amino acids. The final stage involves filtering, drying and low temperature milling.

Rice ProteinDec 25, 2010

I like the rice protein very much indeed. Mixed with almond or rice milk it tastes great, just like a shake. Very smooth and silky and easy to digest. I had previously tried a particular brand of whey protein but even getting it down my throat was an endurance test and I always felt nauseous for hours afterward. The rice protein was a wonderful surprise to my taste buds and equally great if not even better was that I felt the effects of the protein within a day or so. I exercise daily. Without high protein it's difficult to build muscle tissue. I literally began to see my body transform and the process felt very natural and healthy.

Perfect for people with food allergiesMar 02, 2011

I have tried various protein powders over the years, but I have mild food allergies and have always had bad reactions to soy and whey. This product is as advertised and easily digestible. For people with food allergies your choices are rice, vegetable, or hemp protein and this is about half the price of most hemp and vegetable protein powders.
As far as the taste goes, it's made from rice, and as a consequence has a gritty / chalky texture to it. Mixing it with water results in a watery shake with a chalky texture and vitamin-esque flavor - the experience is not exactly pleasure eating; however, it wasn't nearly as bad as some other reviewers are making it out to be. Personally, I find that mixing it with Chocolate Hemp Milk (Tempt) results in a shake that actually has pleasant texture and taste pretty good.
In addition, you will probably want to get a cup with a blender ball for mixing it on the go. I don't think just shaking it in a water bottle is going to do the trick. Mixes fine in a blender.

LOVE this stuff!Jan 01, 2011
By Diversemusicfan Ok everyone, I have some good suggestions for using this product and to help make it taste less "grainy." 1) Buy a simple blender bottle from whole foods. No, this isn't a full-blown blender, but a small hand-held device that has a metal ball in it which breaks up the grainy texture. I wouldn't mix it with water either. Mix it with coconut water, or even better, almond milk, and throw a tablespoon in. [...]
After it is mixed up, I pour it into a glass and add some stevia into it. It's sooo good! And I notice my nails are getting stronger too, so it seems to be working! Hope this helps! :)
