DO NOT BUY THIS: changed formula is completely ineffectiveJul 31, 2009
By Pen Name This used to be a great product from which I derived many skin benefits, mainly with blackheads which I've never ever found anything that worked with this problem. Well one day they changed the label. Same palm tree but new blue background (instead of white if memory serves me well). I didn't think any of it. Well my previous skin benefits were no longer to be had with this new formula. I also noticed that the original silica would "bead" in the teaspoon, meaning if I jerked the spoon not one drop would fall, it would stay snug and tight on the spoon, even though it was liquid. You could tell there was definitely something fascinating happening there! After the label changed, this is no longer the case, liquid just falls off the spoon as if it were water. And I believe that's just what they're now selling: a heavily watered down formula! Such a shame! I phoned the company a few times and they all denied this. But they can't fool me! After 3 more bottles and zero benefits, I finally gave up on calling them and on buying this scam of a product.
I've tried other silica in the past. This one had a great taste, not salty like the others. This is the only one that gave amazing results, but not anymore. Now it's a waste of money and I want everyone to know this. Unfortunately I don't have a brand to recommend. I'm reading up on others and I might be willing to give it a try. I had tried horsetail which is touted as "vegetarian silica" and I didn't like that: it was a very strong diuretic which was a bother while at the office. Before I ever buy one of these, I'll have to sample it first. I'll bring a plastic teaspoon to any health food store that provides a tester bottle and if it beads and stays on the spoon, I will know that's the brand for me. Hope this review helps some save their money, and others understand why they no longer see results from this where in the past they might have.
