avocado oil for hair and skinAug 05, 2010
By Mario Martinez I love this oil, I have many of the oils from NOW FOODS. Avocado oil is a bit thicker than, say, jojoba or rose hip. it's super smooth and i use it in my hair, or after a bath as a body moisturizer. my skin loves it. it has no scent. also use it on my husbands feet & the dry cracked skin is gone.

I originally bought this product because I am a mother of two and it said that it helps with skin elasticity and ance. Well I am still wroking on it and actually it would probally have the chance to work better if I would use it ore often but I still like it. NOW, my husband had craked feet on the ball of his foot and up near his toes. Just by putting this on his feet and wearing socks for about 1 night a week since I bought it man talk about awsome!! They have repaired his feet which is great now we get a two in one deal!

I started using this instead of expensive night creams. I wash my face before bed then spread a bit of this on and I am very impressed with how smooth my skin is the next morning. It goes on greasy, but it absorbs fairly quickly. It doesn't have much of an odor which I prefer. I like the idea of using this natural product and have been very pleased with the results. Not only am I not putting chemicals on my skin, but it comes in a recyclable container and is FAR CHEAPER than the creams I was using before. Because it is natural I don't hesitate to use on both my upper and lower eyelids, again instead of much more expensive creams. I have nothing but praise for this product.

Might slow down hair sheddingMar 19, 2012
By Photog Z I bought this because I am trying new things to help maintain youthful, radiant skin. I am 30 yrs old and still look pretty young for my age, so I'd like to keep it that way. I've used raw shea butter and thought it was good, but after a while it gets a rather unpleasant smell. So I decided to order the avocado oil after reading all the positive reviews. It really does feel good on the skin, hasn't caused any breakouts on my face, the smell isn't offensive, and yes, it works wonders on dry heels. :-)
However I noticed an even better benefit- it may slow down hair shedding. I've been shedding hair at an alarming rate the last 2 months or so. For the past couple of years I've lost a lot of hair, but not as much as I've lost in this short time. It worried me because I know hair thinning is something that could happen as you get older, but the amount I've been losing recently was enough to depress me. Since I have curly hair, the texture already makes it more difficult to groom, but when it's shedding, it makes grooming downright depressing. I thought if I put some avocado oil on my hair, it would make it more manageable. Less snags would mean less hair coming out. But before I actually put it on my hair, I decided to give myself a deep conditioning treatment with the oil. I mixed it with some shampoo (Just cheapo Suave shampoo. Eventually I'm going to upgrade to the good stuff- castille soap) gently massaged it on my scalp and the rest of my hair, then wrapped my hair in plastic wrap and let it sit for about an hour. When I rinsed it out, to my surprise I had MUCH LESS hair coming out. When I wash my hair I don't let it go down the drain because I want to keep tabs on how much hair I'm losing, but this time I was shocked to see very little. I thought it might be a fluke because I'm a skeptic. While my hair was still damp, I was styled it and was pleasantly surprised when not much hair came out because damp hair usually comes out very easily. The following week, I noticed much less hair coming out when I brushed or combed it. I washed my hair again using the same deep conditioning process and again, not much hair was lost during washing. I'm starting to think this might not be a fluke. It's hard to believe something topical could work such wonders on hair shedding, but I think it's working for me! I'm no longer anxious about washing and brushing my hair! I hope it helps other people going through the same problem.
