This stuff is weird but...Jan 25, 2009
By Samus Natural cocoa butter is weird. Every time I get a jar its hard as a rock, some ugly grey color and smells funny. It does not want to melt. But I get it all out of the jar (generally with a screwdriver, I'm a guy, my less brutal female friend puts hers in a hot water bath to loosen it) put it in a double boiler and heat it till its completely melted and clear. Then I pour it in a pan, and, when its set up, prise it out and break it into small pieces. These shards smell more like white chocolate and melt quicky at body temprature. My friend pours her melted cocoa butter into small candy molds (the flexable silicon ones!SiliconeZone Flower Butter Mold, Orange ). She also adds half a vanilla bean when she melts the stuff. Then it smells totally like white chocolate! I do not know why natural cocoa butter needs to be remelted before it becomes useful. Just don't judge it by the way it is in the jar-after being melted and cooled, its a different product entirely

Good product, but a lot of workNov 25, 2008
By T. Jefferson I bought this for my daughter and son, both of whom are under 3 and have extremely dry skin. My daughter also suffers from excema. She can't use anything with artifical colors or fragrances, so I thought this would be perfect. It helps tremendously with their skin issues, but it isn't as easy as simply scooping some out and using it. You have to warm it up, either in a microwave safe dish or by placing the container in some warm water. It is seriously hard when you get it. Like chocolate. But you will smell yummy after using it!

By Kay I liked this product...it has a strong scent of Cocoa but not necessarily unpleasant...it has to be popped in the microwave to soften it..but has worked much better than store-bought moisturizers. I use it in combination with Shea butter.

By Angel When i first recieved this jar of cocoa butter it was/is rock hard and dry. For everyone who hasn't yet figured out how to use this product, read this review it will save you some time and frustration.
I cut out the amount of cocoa butter needed from this jar, added it to a heat safe container with coconut oil at room tempurature... I put the container in a pan halfway filled with water, don't fill 2 much or the water will go into your container. With low heat and a few minutes the cocoa butter melted nicely into the coconut oil, so I removed it from the heat added argan oil, grapeseed oil and mixed. Once it returned to room tempurature the mixture was not dry or hard. It melts easily when I want to use it and my skin has never felt better or more hydrated. This works wonders on winter dry hair as a leave in treatment overnight. I've also used this mixture on my face, under makeup and at night. I've noticed smoother, brighter skin and wouldn't trade my oil for any department store product again.
Give this oen a try, it's worth it.

"Collector of Stuff"
Finally something for my horrible blemishes! I had been using the drugstore brand concoctions for my face and was sadly disappointed many times. It never occured to me that the "other" ingrdients could be to blame. I enjoy the fact that a little goes a long way and my pores are no longer clogged due to buildup. My skin is so soft and radiant.
