After suffering with cracked and bleeding hands for so long, this winter was the last straw. I searched for a natural alternative to those flowered potions that have drying ingredients in them, causing the endless cycle of: the more you use, the more you need. I have dry skin in the winter, but I also have a hobby of working on cars, so the cracked hands last all year. Dealing with solvents & parts cleaner is extremely drying, so for my hands it felt like winter all year long. I bought this product at my local Sun Harvest, because I couldn't stand to wait any longer, $ 7.99 for 7 oz., I thought that was reasonable since it will last a long time. A little dab will do ya! This stuff works great-it's like water-proofing for your skin!
There is a scent to it, but it doesn't smell anything like a barnyard or sheep poop-I know the smell of both, thank you very much and this isn't it! To be completely honest, with my knowledge of automotive fluids, this actually has a scent similar to clean/unused bearing grease (very light scent) similar to petroleum jelly. As you rub, the scent disappears completely-so CALM DOWN LADIES, you're not going to be walking around smelling like a "Brake Specialist"!

i use lanolin to keep my heels smooth, and to keep my hands from drying out during winter
you can buy 2oz of processed lanolin, with the smell removed for about $15
you can buy a pound of unprocessed lanolin, with the smell of sheep for about $11
natural lanolin is anhydrous, dark in color, and has an odor to it
if you want lanolin that doesn't smell, get the processed hydrous lanolin

By H. Heffner Pure lanolin is ideal for chapped hands as it doesn't wash off as easily as most hand creams--it also doesn't dissolve the inks on glossy magazines. Used daily on your feet, it will prevent dry callused feet.
Lanolin is sold in two forms. One is "anhydrous" meaning it doesn't contain water and has an initial oily feel; the other is "hydrous" lanolin which contains water, making it creamy. Both are good.

By Rosemary Gwaltney I'm thrilled to find pure lanolin, so inexpensively! You see, I have an adult daughter who is severely disabled, must wear diapers, and has very sensitive skin. Her doctor and I, between us, tried everything we could find, for years, fighting one particularly stubborn patch of irritated, red-bumped skin. Then I found lanolin! Within two weeks, this patch, which was the size of a dinner plate, had faded almost completely away! I am SO impressed. Nothing else worked, prescription or otherwise. Three cheers for lanolin, and for this place which sells it for less money. I spent 15. on the first tube I found, which was 2 ounces! Thank you.

By Sam I Am.. It's almost hard to describe it, but it doesn't smell like a barn yard as one person stated, lol. It has an amber colour and a light odor. If you like, just add a few drops of your favorite oil when using it; I mixed mine with orange oil because I love the smell of oranges. The texture is thick like a soft wax, so a little goes a long way. I also mixed the Lanolin with pure Jojoba oil. The Jojoba oil helps it to penetrate the skin better. I apply it to my feet/hands and I then wear cotton gloves/socks at bedtime. Come the morning my hands/feet are very soft like a baby's.
This is 100 percent PURE Lanolin. I totally love this stuff.
