Nature's Way St John's Wort really works!Oct 23, 2010

I've taken numerous brands of St John's Wort through the years and have always come back to Nature's Way with the Lavender lid. (That's what I call it, because there's another Nature's Way with a green lid that is not as potent for me). It works for mild depression, over-reaction to situations, anxiety, stress and irritability. It also helps a little with insomnia, although for me not too much. For years, they have done many tests in Germany and have prescribed it as a prescription for depression.
I've read that it causes sun sensitivity, however, I have not noticed any. (Although if you use a tanning bed, then I would not take it.) I have taken it for over 20 years with no side effects what so ever. It has a "balancing" effect for me. Just smoothes my stress level out a bit and keeps things more even. When I stopped taking it for awhile, there were no withdrawals or side effects. Amazon has the best deal I've found; my local health food store costs twice as much for the same bottle.
If you have mild depression, anxiety, or just too much stress, try it. It's very safe and just might work for you too.

GreatMar 27, 2011
By Brian A lot of the negative reviews talk about how the product doesn't work. The problem, is the product works EXACTLY as advertised: capsules of St. Johns Wort. Do your own research on the product, there have been scientific studies that show this to be a very mild antidepressant. And you also need to take it for several weeks for effects to begin.
The product itself is the cheapest one on Amazon I could find. (in terms of mg/$)

best yet for a positive moodDec 12, 2010
By amulet I have been using St. John's Wart for over 5 years. There is no doubt it has made a difference in supporting a positive mood. I cannot go a day without it because I can tell when I have not taken it. It works for me. I hope it works for you. I take 300 mg per day, every day.

Patience And Persistence Pays Off!Feb 16, 2012
By LTL446 I've been taking Saint John's Wort for over a year now. It took me a while to really get in the swing of taking it everyday but once I did it really seemed to work!
The pills have helped me with the following: -Depression -Anxiety -OCD -Mood Swings (I've found Saint John's to have little to no affect on insomnia)
There are some other things you can do along with taking Saint Johns that I have found help with mood problems. -Cut out all caffeine -Exercise frequently -Get enough Omega 3's in your diet -Eat healthy -Stay away from drugs and alcohol
I read that some studies suggest that spreading the pills out throughout the day yields better results. I find this to not be true. Though I do find it's best to keep a routine.
Overdose is a risk. I've never heard of anyone dying from Saint John's (not to say its never happened or could never happen) but I do know if you take to many it can be unpleasant. Once I accidentally took six pills in one day and I, well lets just say I had digestive issues...
I don't think it's the placebo effect. I do believe these pills really work. I would definitely recommend them, they are well worth twice their price!

Worked great!Oct 28, 2011
By Henry There's not a whole load to say. It has worked well for me so far in keeping my emotions stable. I feel like I'm almost a new person. For those who've never taken St. John's Wort before, it can take a few weeks before you start feeling the effects, and possibly more than a month before it'sworking 100%, so don't give up when you don't notice any immediate changes.
