Concentrated, High Quality SupplementJul 04, 2010
By HTBK Like green tea and many other supplements that have lax labeling regulations, it can be difficult to find a fish oil that actually delivers what you need instead of a bunch of filler. This delivers what you need.
As you begin to research fish oils, you'll learn that you have to check the label - you can't just rely on the mg on the label, as manufacturers will list the mg of "fish oil," not the mg of what you're really after - Omega 3s, especially EPA+DHA. Basically everything else is just filler and a meaningless number. For example, Kirkland Signature Natural Fish Oil Concentrate with Omega-3 Fatty Acids - 400 Softgels, a lower cost competitor, advertises "1000 mg," but when you look at the label, you'll see that it only provides 180mg EPA and 120mg DHA per softgel - aka 300 mg of what you actually want. What's everything else in that pill? As far as we're concerned, junk.
Nordic Naturals advertises 1000mg, and actually provides 668mg Omega 3s+Omega 9 per softgel. The company is also committed to sustainable fishing practices and exceeds the strict Norwegian Medicinal Standard for quality, ensuring lower peroxides, heavy metals, dioxins, and PCBS - we do not have any governmental fish oil quality standards in the US.
For reference, I take this product with GNC MEGA MEN Multivitamins 180 Tablets (EXP:11/2011) and Green Tea Mega EGCG(tm) (100 veggie capsules). It's a great regimen and I've seen real results.

Keep it in the freezer!Oct 20, 2009
By David Estlund I love this product, and have been using it for years now. I started because of skin problems, but it's helped my cholesterol levels and my overall well being! Make sure you get it fresh though and store it in the freezer or you will end up with heartburn and stinky fish burps. (Since I started doing that, I've never tasted fish at all!)

Excellent anitoxidantAug 06, 2007
By Never enough books Our daughter in law worked for years in the dispensary of a naturopathic college, and is the one who got us started on Nordic Naturals. I had been reluctant to take fish oil capsules because of the fishy aftertaste, but that has not been a problem with Nordic Naturals. Before I ever began taking them, I went online and read the propaganda from several different companies, then decided that these were the ones to stay with. A word of caution to anyone who takes blood thinners, aspirin, or any other supplements that are classified as antioxidants; these do thin the blood. I have noticed an improvement in my dry skin and eczema since taking Nordic Naturals.

Excellent Product, No aftertasteNov 02, 2009
By Shay365 I've been using the Ultimate Omega for the past three years. Besides signifficantly improving cholesterol levels, it has great effect on the skin (prevents rash and other skin disorders), and has a good calming effect towards the end of the day (I've been taking it twice a day), were is seems to me that it even improves the general mood. Reading all the research around Omega 3 products, I think one should consider the impurities found in some of the products available on the market. I consider the Ultimate Omega by Nordic Naturals as a leading brand, where I trust that the product is clean from heavy metals and other impurities. I also think that the fish used are of the better quality. If you are bound to take Omega 3 for a number of years, or for the rest of your life, I would take this product as my best choice.

Works on triglyceridesOct 06, 2009

I started taking this about three months ago. Last week I had my biannual visit to my diabetes doctor and my persistent high triglyceride level dropped 100 points to 154, only four points above the desired level. I never have any aftertaste regardless of whether I take it with or without food. My wife needs to take it with food or she gets a mild aftertaste. This product is expensive but worh every penny IMHO.
