5Unexpected use makes this a 'must have' in my kitchenSep 23, 2010

Honey Crisp apples are in and some are so big they're good to slice and share, but it's important to keep them from browning so they look as good as they taste. Apples are great for school lunches and snacks. That's where this product comes in.

Mix 1/2 teaspoon of the powder with water in a spray bottle and lightly spray the apple slices. They won't brown and the taste isn't altered as it would be if straight lemon juice were used. If you use too much you might get a slightly lemon-y taste, but even then it's not enough to overpower the apple. A little does the job well. The solution can be kept in the fridge for a long time and used often.

It's not just for apples, but will keep a basil pesto or guacamole its rich vibrant green. It also works for potatoes, artichokes and other foods that darken quickly after being cut.

The stuff is worth its weight in gold. Because it dissolves in water it offers lots of healthy possibilities. A cold glass of water after working outside or to accompany lunch is not only refreshing it becomes a health boost by adding some of this powder. Want tea with lemon but don't have a lemon? I use 1/4 teaspoon of this powder to give a cup of tea, hot or cold, a slight lemony taste.

I swear by this product and use it in a lot of unexpected ways. I've had so much success using it with food, I've branched out to cleaning tasks and find I can use a solution to shine my stainless steel fixtures, even clean the sink. My next experiment is to see if it will brighten my white laundry. I may need to get a bigger size next time :) Well worth the cost and you'll be healthier too.

Ascorbic Acid, powder form, long story short, reduces inflamation in ones body.If I feel a cold coming on,I double the usual dose, within 24 hours symptoms disappear. It also reduced the swelling of an abscessed tooth once.I've been taking it for five years, and feel half my age(60).I'll continue to take it 'till they throw dirt on me!!

5The Best Vitamin CJan 10, 2007
By Shelby
This is one of the best Vitamin C's. Just plain old Vitamin C with no other additives. Ascorbic Acid is also the most digestible form of Vitamin C. Do your research, and you will see that this is one of the best. Who needs flu shots, when you feel something coming on just up your intake.

5Love itMay 12, 2010

I use it to sprinkle into a bathtub to neutralize the chlorine, the same way "Vitamin C" shower filters work. Add some Epsom Salt or Dead Sea Salt, and it's like going to a SPA bath. NICE! Also, I take powdered chlorella with a cup of water as a natural detox from heavy metals, and adding 1 tsp ascorbic acid makes the taste okay, if not exactly great.
