Cold Busting Chinese MedicineDec 10, 2008
By sandpiperkim This is truly a miracle cure for the common cold (not for the flu like the prior review). If you take Yin Chiao at the first sign of a cold (stuffy head, sore throat, etc.) and take it liberally for about 24 hours you are sure to combat the cold before it really takes over your body. It is amazing. I've been using this for about 5 years now. If I start taking Yin Chiao early and consistently for about 24 hours, I don't get sick. It is a basic herbal formula consisting of honeysuckle, forsythia, peppermint, licorice, and a few others. I recommend keeping this on you at all times (in your purse, in the car) and take it as soon as you notice a funny tickle in your throat or nose. Believe in this stuff and it'll work!

Teacher's Best FriendDec 02, 2009
By J. Mitchell I learned about Dr. Shen's about 2 years ago and I wish I had known about it sooner. I am an elementary school teacher and I get a lot of colds throughout the school year. If I take Dr. Shen's consistently at the first sign of a cold, it stops it cold (no pun intended). It doesn't work for everyone I know but it has been a miracle for me. I turned my mom on to it last year and she is a Dr. Shen's convert as well.

Yin Chiao is amazing for stopping coldsOct 24, 2008

We learned about this from a friend when we got a flu bug, so we bought some out of desperation to try anything.
Used as directed on the bottle, we have found that we can knock a cold out before it really gets a chance to get started. Even if you are already sick, it helps a lot.
We have recommended it to our friends and family, and the ones who have tried it are sold on it.
Works for me!Sep 07, 2011

This sure seems to work for me. Although it does not always prevent a cold... it sure seems to make it last just a day or two.
My immune system is somewhat compromised so this is a very good thing.
I generally take the Yin Chiao and a lot of Vitamin C, and have not had a bad cold in a while.
Works as a prophylacticMar 12, 2011
By ConsumerVoice I used to suffer with colds about 4 times a year. My homeopathic practitioner turned me on to Yin Chiao and I have been using for at least 20 years. The efficacy of it depends on how early you start taking it. I experience no side effects from the dosage, no drowsiness, no lightheadedness, nothing. So if I suspect I might be coming down with something, I start taking it. And I take a dosage every couple of hours for the first day and that usually prevents my getting sick. I hate suffering with a cold so I carry this with me everywhere, as waiting hours to get home before starting to take can give a cold its time to dig in and get started. There are many brands of Yin Chiao on the market and if you have a Chinese pharmacy or herbal store in your area they will surely carry it and it will be much cheaper. I prefer the ones that are polished tablets so that taking 3-4 at a time are easy. Yin Chiao prevents my colds about 85% of the time. If a cold does take hold I switch to a different combination herb that is made for shortening duration, as I have not found Yin Chiao to be particularly effective after a cold has started. It is truly meant to prevent.
